2013 Officers

IMG_5113

Broad Ripple Lodge means a great deal to its officers and it is vital to have the support of our family and friends in all our laudable endeavors. This year’s team of officers continually puts their heart and soul into this organization and not simply for the pride of calling themselves a Freemason but because its teachings enhance their personal and professional lives in some way.

The purpose of Freemasonry has always been to build the character of individuals in order to improve society as a whole. The degrees of freemasonry use the tools and implements of architecture to teach that by building high moral character and in affect make the world a better place. This goal means something different for each member, and it’s the responsibility of the officers to encourage the members to continue their education in our craft.

I joined this Lodge six years ago now with the aspiration to learn more about how the world worked and be a part of the most ancient fraternity on the planet, and for which my grandfather was a member. Almost immediately I join the officer line, the leadership structure of a Lodge, and before I knew it I was discovering just how much I had in common with this group of men. We may have wildly varying career paths from political figures, to authors, security, IT, and construction. Each mason has an individual mission to strengthen themselves or satisfy some historical craving. The common denominator among all Masons appears to be that each one seeks to better themselves through fellowship, teamwork, and personal aspiration and this is seen most strongly in the officers of a lodge.

It is with great honor and humility I serve as Mast of Broad Ripple Lodge for 2013.

Respectfully,
Benjamin Fuhr
Worshipful Master

I came to Masonry as a way to meet some new friends. But in a short time, my new Brothers and the Lodge became a very important part of my life. The men I admire the most are my Masonic Brothers.

I came to the lodge because I was looking for answers and found a family.

Broad Ripple Lodge taught me how quickly men can become close friends, and form lifelong bonds. I feel I’ve known many of my fellow masons for a much longer time than I have actually been involved.

Why I Became a Worshipful Master

Why I Became a Worshipful Master

I joined a Masonic lodge to make new friends. In this day and age it can be difficult to develop constant predictable relationships with other people. In my life it seemed like every time I made a friend they ended up moving away, I lost interest or they were just too...

Between the baked potatoes, chili, and appetizers we had options for everyone to enjoy great food and fellowship. The chili was, of course, the star of the day with a wide spread of bubbling pots!
